Working Toward Global Health

The Department of Biological Sciences is an internationally recognized center for research in mosquito biology which houses VectorBase, a bioinformatics resource for invertebrate vectors of human pathogens, formerly the Aedes Reference Centre.

The Eck Institute for Global Health endeavors to promote research, training and service to advance health standards for all people, especially people in low-and middle-income countries, who are disproportionately impacted by preventable diseases. Also included is the Master of Science in Global Health, a twelve month science-centric training program involving laboratory research, survey research, and mathematical modeling in the emerging field of global health.
