Housing
One of the many benefits of living in the South Bend, Indiana, area is a low cost of living and high-quality, affordable housing. Housing is available both on campus and off, for single and married graduate students.
Some Notre Dame graduate students choose to purchase their own homes, which are particularly affordable in neighborhoods three to five miles from campus.
There is also an abundance of off-campus apartments within five miles of the campus. Many of these are modern with in-apartment washer and dryer, air conditioning, and cable hookups. Rents for apartments typically include water and trash services, and may include partial utilities, such as heating.
