Graduation

The Graduate School at the University of Notre Dame hosts a separate Commencement ceremony dedicated to doctoral and master's students. Students are invited to attend both the Graduate School and the University Commencement exercises, but the hooding of Ph.D. recipients and the conferral of graduate degrees (business and law not included) will take place at the Graduate School ceremony.

Commencement Ceremony RSVP: The deadline has passed to submit your RSVP for the Graduate School Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 17. If you wish to participate in the ceremony but missed the RSVP deadline, please email Linda Vargo immediately. If you do not notify us in advance of your intent to attend, you will not be able to participate in the Saturday ceremony, and your diploma will be mailed to you.

Graduate School Open House:

Date: Friday, May 16
Time: 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Place: 5th Floor, Main Building

All graduate faculty, staff, graduating students, and their guests are invited to attend. Additional information will be posted on this page as it becomes available.

Graduate Commencement Ceremony:

Date: Saturday, May 17
Time: 10:00 A.M.
Place: Joyce Center

There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony on the lawn outside of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center (DPAC).

Please note: Due to the expanded seating availability in the Joyce Center, guest tickets will not be required for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony.

University Commencement Exercises (tentative schedule):

Place: Joyce Center
