Checklist for Newly Admitted Students

Before Arrival

  • Received admission letter
  • Returned Acceptance of Offer form
  • Received confirmation letter
  • Arranged housing for the year
  • Contacted department and/or adviser
  • Completed Health History form
  • Submitted final transcript showing conferral of previous degree

Additional Items for International Students

  • Received I-20 or DS-2019 visa documents
  • Obtained visa obtained, arranged transfer to "University of Notre Dame du Lac", or filed Change of Status request (as
    applicable)

After Arrival

  • Contacted department
  • Completed I-9 Work Eligibility form (in department) immediately
  • Registered and enrolled (after consultation with department)
  • Acquired student ID card
  • Completed computer access procedures through the Office of Information Technologies
  • Acquired parking permit (if needed)
  • Made banking arrangements
  • Arranged housing for the year
  • Attended student orientations (International Students, Graduate Student Union, Registrar’s,
    departmental)

Additional Items for International Students

  • Registered immediately with ND's Immigration Services Office
  • Applied for Social Security number
