Library Services
The University library system—
including eight branches and the Hesburgh Library—encompasses
nearly three million volumes, special collections and electronic
resources (including more than 240 databases and 5,000 electronic
journal titles).
Materials Check Out:
Graduate students have complete access to these resources. With
their Student ID, students can check out materials for one semester.
All books are subject to recall after 14 days if requested by
another patron, or immediate recall if requested by the Reserve
Book Room.
Orientation:
Orientation
sessions for students and faculty are presented by the library
staff at the start of each semester and the summer session. They
are held in the Theodore M. Hesburgh Library, a 14-story structure
and the main library on campus. Located on the east side of campus
near Juniper Road, it is known for the Word
of Life Mural (also called Touchdown Jesus) and the reflection
pool on its south side.
