Author: Mary Hendriksen

The University of Notre Dame Graduate School Commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 15, at 10:00 A.M. in the Purcell Pavilion, directly east of the stadium.

The event will honor by name both doctoral and master’s degree recipients under the Graduate School purview (Colleges of Arts and Letters, College of Engineering, and College of Science). Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony.

Students are invited to participate in both the Graduate School ceremony on Saturday and the University Commencement ceremony on Sunday, but the hooding of Ph.D. recipients and the conferral of graduate degrees will take place during the Graduate School program.

Gregory Sterling, dean of the Graduate School, will preside over the ceremony and deliver the Commencement address. Fr. John Jenkins, president of the University, the academic officers, and the college deans will be in attendance.

All students, staff, faculty and their guests are invited to attend the Saturday ceremony. Graduating students, their advisors, and members of the platform party should arrive at the Purcell Pavilion by 9:15, entering through Gate 1 and assembling in the Auxiliary Gym for the procession, which will begin promptly at 9:40 am.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Graduate School will host a reception for graduates and their guests at the Jordan Hall of Science.
