Join us February 8th for an open house and a look at the new and improved Hesburgh Library 10th Floor!

The Graduate School and the Hesburgh Libraries will host an Open House and Cookie Celebration for the renewed 10th Floor. Stop by for cookies, refreshments, prizes, and more, on Monday, February 8th between 4:30 and 6:00 pm. Tour the floor, network with friends and colleagues, and offer your feedback on the 10th Floor renovation.

The 10th Floor is the first of the tower floors to be transformed as a part of the Hesburgh Library’s master plan for building renovation. Key features include: new, open-concept, assigned graduate student carrels within the Graduate Student Enclave, an appointed 10th Floor Reading Room, lighted study tables, and seating areas around the newly exposed windows. New lighting, flooring, shelving and seating throughout have given the floor a long-needed renewal and have transformed the experience and usability of the space.

These new spaces will more closely connect faculty and students with the scholarly resources that inspire their research and learning. In partnership with faculty and graduate students from the Department of History and related disciplines, the steering committee and renovation planners worked to develop solutions to meet diverse user needs. Ultimately, the goal is to foster communities of scholars and to help empower all students to create new knowledge that furthers the Notre Dame mission.

The steering committee is open to—and hoping for—your feedback to guide the thinking about the renovation of additional tower floors in the future.

Please join us and celebrate!
