What is your hometown?

Havana, Cuba

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Notre Dame?

Prior to ND, I completed a master's in math at Florida State

What do you research?

I examine and model how networks and their metadata change over time.

Do you live on campus or off?

off campus

What do you like to do in your spare time for fun? What hobbies do you enjoy?

Weightlifting, learning Mandarin Chinese, and building mechanical keyboards, when I'm not visiting a state or local park

How do you unwind after a long day of work?/How do you practice self-care?

I enjoy reading, practicing my coffee-making skills, and unwinding with my friends. I also occasionally climb at the rock wall in Duncan.

After you graduate, what would you like to do?

I'm aiming for a tenure-track or teaching position at an American university somewhere cold. Working for a national lab would also be great.

Why did you choose Notre Dame?

Apart from the high research quality, the immediate impression that I got from the faculty I interviewed with conveyed a sense of warmth and hospitality that I felt was absent from other universities I'd attended and visited.
