First Notre Dame Graduate Research Symposium: Call for Abstracts (deadline of September 19, 2008)

The first Notre Dame Graduate Research Symposium will be held on November 21, 2008. Organized by the Graduate Student Union and funded by the Graduate School, the symposium will showcase to the University community the innovative work that graduate students engage in during their tenure at Notre Dame.

Abstracts will be accepted in five divisions—Architecture and Engineering, Humanities, Science, Social Science, and one division devoted to research related to this year’s University Forum topic “Sustainable Energy.” The deadline for submission of abstracts is September 19, 2008.

From the abstracts, a panel of faculty, administrators, and Graduate Student Union officers will select three to six delegates to represent each division. The delegates will present their research in poster format on November 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. to the Graduate Advisory Council as well as to interested members of the Notre Dame community. On that day, another panel of faculty, administrators, and Graduate Student Union officers will judge the displays, and one winner from each division will receive a $500 cash prize.
