Four department alumni have recently received Launching Early-Career Academic Pathways in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (LEAPS-MPS) awards. These substantial awards help launch the careers of pre-tenure faculty in mathematical and physical sciences at institutions that do not traditionally receive significant amounts of NSF funding.
- Alexander Diaz-Lopez '16 Ph.D. (adviser: Matthew Dyer) is currently at Villanova.
- John Holmes '15 Ph.D. (adviser: Alex Himonas) is currently at Ohio State.
- MurphyKate Montee '13 is currently at Carleton College.
- Laura Murray '20 Ph.D. (adviser: Stephan Stolz) is currently at Providence College.
The four met and had a mini Notre Dame reunion at a recent NSF workshop for new and recent PIs. Pictured at that meeting (from left to right) is Laura, John, and Alexander.
Congratulations to all four!
