The Early Christian Studies M.A. is an interdisciplinary program, sponsored jointly by the Departments of Classics and Theology, offering training in philology, theology, classical and early Christian literature, history, liturgy, art history, and philosophy. The program prepares students for eventual doctoral studies by developing their abilities in at least two ancient Christian languages, as well as by imparting a broad knowledge of the intellectual, historical, social, and material contexts of early Christianity.
