Fellowship Received
Richard and Peggy Notebaert Premier Fellowship (2022)

A doctoral student in peace studies and psychology, Adedoyin’s initial interest in research began with her volunteer experiences in her home community of Lagos, Nigeria, working to help reconnect youths who were attempting to reintegrate into the community after being recruited by gang members. After immigrating to the United States with her family at age 17, Ade earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rochester University in 2015, and her master’s in research psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She is interested in documenting how cultural norms and institutional policies and practices constrain the opportunities, resources, and well-being of war-affected youths and their families, especially those from low-to-middle income countries experiencing conflict. Ade hopes to pursue a career in research that is focused on communities experiencing conflict, while also working with organizations to implement research-based interventions.
