Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics: PhD
Fellowship Received
Richard and Peggy Notebaert Premier Fellowship (2022)

Jingyi comes to Notre Dame from Columbia University, where she earned her Master of Science in applied mathematics and participated in a significant number of advanced mathematics and statistics research projects, including on hyperbolic partial differential equations, stochastic calculus, data mining, and Bayesian inference. Her particular research interests at Notre Dame will center around partial differential equations, and she will employ her familiarity with multiple programming languages – among them Python, R, MATLAB, and Fortran – as critical tools in her investigations. Jingyi is interested in eventually finding a job in the academy, but in the meantime she is thoroughly enjoying her doctoral program in the Department of Applied and Computational Math and Sciences and the support of faculty, staff, and fellow students.
