Debora Rogo is a Kenyan attorney and human rights advocate. Debora studies the East African Airlift (1959-1963), an education scheme established by Kenyan nationalist Tom Mboya to educate African students in North America, as a lens to understand democracy, ethnicity and conflict in Kenya. She also plans to study the impact of the 1969 assassination of Mboya, and how that single act of violence helped inject ethnic tensions into the current political, cultural, and socio-economic landscape in Kenya. She is available to review internal and external funding opportunities, with a focus on the humanities.
