For Shinjini Chattopadhyay, Ulysses provides a blueprint for understanding modern life in post-colonial times. The winner of Notre Dame's Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher Award will begin as a tenure-track assistant professor at Berry College in Georgia this fall.

Eliot Prize in Poetry.   Darcy, who received both her MFA in Creative Writing from Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in English, with an Irish Studies graduate minor, now lives in Wales.  A poet, a critic, and a professor, she teaches contemporary Irish poetry and literature at Cardiff University.…

Noted Scholar Jane McAuliffe to Deliver the Graduate School Commencement Address

Notre Dame Graduate Students Win a Record Amount of Funding through External Grants and Fellowships

In the past academic year, Notre Dame graduate students were awarded a record amount in fellowships and grants—$4.24 million—from organizations and entities around the world. The 2013-2014 cumulative award amount is $1.1 million more than the previous academic year and represents a 14% increase in the number of students applying for outside awards.

Notre Dame Graduate School and Reilly Center Win NSF Grant to Study How to Best “Cultivate Cultures” for Ethical Leaders in STEM disciplines

Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values have won a National Science Foundation grant in the amount of $410,340 for a project that will study what training content and methods most successfully help STEM students become ethical leaders.

Over the past four years, graduate students at the University of Notre Dame have been selected to participate in the prestigious "Lindau Laureate Meetings":http://www.lindau-nobel.org/2012_62nd_Lindau_Meeting.AxCMS —which provide a forum for Nobel Laureates to meet with graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from around the world. The guiding principle of the meetings is to “Educate. Inspire. Connect.” The laureates fulfill that promise by interacting with their younger counterparts, who also use the meetings to learn from and network with each other—and so advance knowledge worldwide in their generation.
